Week 1: Sound and image

On week one of sound and image we were introduced to the first module and had a brief over what we would be looking at and doing over the next 12 weeks. We watched old animations looking at the very first moving images that were ever recorded with sound. Steamboat Willie was believed to be the first animation that incorporated the use of sound, it is a short video of Mickey Mouse in 1928 which shows Mickey wanting to be captain of the ship but then the real captain shows up Pete who finds out and gets angry at mickey, then mickey is sent down to clean the decks. We then find mickey getting distracted and making sounds using instruments.

We were then given the tasks for over the weeks where we had to add sounds to a chosen animation and then make an animation using a soundtrack that we are given.
